Asunto Oy Helsinki Sailors Home, located in Katajanokka, Helsinki, is a high-quality new building in a historic environment. The stormwater drainage system in the courtyard of the large apartment building was implemented by Rekolan Putki Oy with Pellitarvikke's channel drains and yard drains.

A functional stormwater drainage system for a cramped courtyard

The residential building, built on the site of the traditional sailors' house in Katajanokka, is located between the prestigious Jugend houses. The stormwater drainage solution had to be reliable and visually suitable for a high-quality environment.

The courtyard of Sailors Home is relatively cramped, so the design and implementation of the stormwater system required precision in terms of dimensions and slopes. Some of the channel drains were installed in front of the car lift leading to the car park. The yard's drains were implemented in accordance with the complementary plans of the architect and the HVAC designer.

Tomi Leinikka, the HVAC project manager at Rekola Putki, had previous experience in installing Peltitarvike's inverted roof drains. He was also satisfied with the channel drains and the service he received.

Four long channel drains and inverted structure drains were planned for the site. The internal slopes of Peltitarvike's channel drains were implemented as planned. Short delivery times and good delivery reliability are important to us. In addition to the original plan, we also quickly got the inverted roof drains we needed.
