DryLine® Spa channel drain

The stylish DryLine® Spa channel drains, made of stainless steel, are suitable for draining water from swimming pools, terraces and balconies. Channels are flexibly dimensioned according to the site-specific needs, taking into account the required lengths, heights, internal slopes and drainage connections. Channel drains customised for the site allow the designer to implement a functional and easy-to-install stormwater drainage system for even the most demanding sites.

DryLine® Spa channel drains are compatible with liquid and spray-applied waterproofing membranes. The special feature of the channels is a solution in which the water on top of the waterproofing is also removed through the drain.

Accessories

Cast-in supports

Mounting feet

The mounting feet make it easy to position the channel at the correct height.

Self-adjusting thermocable placed in the protective case

The thermocable is installed inside the protective case, so that it is protected from mechanical stress. The connection cable is brought into the channel through a watertight pressure grommet.

Installation instructions

Maintenance

The channel drain must be maintained regularly. Failure to maintain will reduce or prevent water flow.

  1. Check the condition of the channel and gratings.
  2. Clean clogged gratings.
  3. Open the grating screws and remove the gratings.
  4. Clean the channel and outlets.
  5. Check the condition of the thermocable and the protective case.*
  6. Put the grating in place and tighten the screws.

* If included in the channel

Frequently asked questions about channel drains

Are DryLine® channel drains suitable for tiled (clinker) surfaces?

Yes, the DryLine® range offers two options for tiled surfaces, either DryLine® Spa or DryLine® Flex:

  • Spa channel drain, is ideal for tiled surfaces. The stylish Spa drain is designed for use with liquid and spray-applied waterproofing membranes. The flange of the Spa drain is connected to the waterproofing, the perforated lower edge of the grating frame allows water to flow into the drain from the surface of the waterproofing layer. Thanks to its slim dimensions, the Spa drain is particularly suitable for low terrace structures.
  • Flex channel drain is suitable for tiled surfaces, e.g. with a slotted grating. The Flex drain is tailored according to the structural thickness of the site.

How do I ensure the load-bearing requirements of the site?

The necessary load-bearing requirements must be verified by the site designer. Depending on the site, it can be a structural engineer, yard/green designer or architect. The designer takes into account the load-bearing requirements when determining the location of the channel drains and the load it must withstand, including snow plowing equipment and rescue routes.

I need an 80-meter channel drain, is it feasible?

Yes, we implement longer drains assemblies by connecting approximately 6 m long drains to each other with connecting flanges. With the help of connecting flanges, we can implement assemblies of any length. The material of the connecting flange is either EPDM or NBR rubber, depending on the location and intended use of the drain.

How do I determine the depth of the channel drain?

The minimum depths for channel drains are determined on the basis of manufacturing techniques:

  • Channel drain with slotted grating (stainless steel)
    • With thermocable, height 55mm
    • Without thermocable, height 45mm
  • Channel drain with mesh grating (stainless steel)
    • With thermocable, height 75mm
    • Without thermocable, height 60mm
  • Channel drain with slotted grating (ductile iron)
    • With thermocable, height 65mm
    • Without thermocable, depending on the width of the channel, height 50-55mm

Otherwise, the depth is affected by the structural thickness of the site and, taking this into account, the height of the channel can be freely chosen. A low channel drain requires more frequent cleaning to prevent clogging, a deeper channel has more space.

Can the outlet of the channel drain be placed on the side?

Yes, one or more of the DryLine® channel drain outlets can be freely placed at the bottom, side or end of the channel according to the needs of the site. The diameter of the outlet is determined by the size of the drain, either Ø 50, 75 or 110 mm.

How is the DryLine® channel drain thermocable brought into the drain in a watertight manner?

The thermocable is brought into the channel drain by means of a watertight pressure grommet. The pressure grommet is welded firmly to the drain, at a point specified by the customer. It can be placed at the end, side or bottom, taking into account the electrical plan of the site.
