Fall protection for an architectural landmark

Safe movement and work on the roof of Finlandia Hall is made possible by Peltitarvike's PITO^™ roof anchor posts. Hot-dip galvanised and internally condensation-insulated roof anchor posts are designed to withstand the varying conditions of the north. PITO^™ roof anchor posts are suitable for personal fall protection as a single anchor point or as part of a lifeline system.

The PITO^™ Greenline lifeline system installed between the roof anchor posts creates a fall protection system that covers the different levels of the roof of the Finlandia House. Uniform lines running parallel to the eaves allow safe access to the eaves and other roof maintenance points while the user is attached to the wire line.

The large roof area of the Finlandia House benefits from the fact that four simultaneous users can attach to the PITO^™ Greenline lifeline system. Thus, the maintenance of the roof can be safely and effortlessly carried out by several people. In addition to personal fall protection, PITO^™ roof anchor posts can be used to support suspended scaffolding if necessary.

Collaboration from design to installation

In connection with the renovation of the Finlandia House, which began in 2022, Peltitarvike's product support assisted in the design of the renewed fall protection in terms of the placement of roof anchor posts and lifeline system. The main contractor of the site was responsible for the installation of the PITO^™ roof anchor posts delivered to the site in accordance with the lifeline system plan. As the roofing work progressed, the PITO™Greenline lifeline system running between the roof anchor posts was installed at the site by Peltitarvike's installers. The installation of the lines was carried out in two batches according to the progress of the construction site.

Peltitarvike's installers document all projects and the installation protocol, operating instructions and plans are attached to the material folder to be handed over to the customer.
