Frequently asked questions about roof drains

Are the roof drains CE marked?

Roof drains are not CE marked, as the European standardisation organisation CEN has not defined a harmonised product standard (hEN) for roof drains, on the basis of which the product could be CE marked. The product eligibility of the drain is determined by site-specific certification.

How do I choose a suitable roof drain for my site?

In our roof drain range, you will find drains for every site. For a demanding site where a lot of debris accumulates on the roof or which is located in a windy place, we recommend an A or A Max roof drain with an attachable debris strainer.

The cost-effective roof drain C is well suited for smaller roofs or canopies.

Inverted structure drains can be found separately in our KK and PK drains.

Are your roof drains standard size?

Our roof drains have a wide range of standard dimensions in terms of pipe diameter and length, for example, pipe lengths are available up to 1200 mm. All our products can also be customised to the desired dimensions on request.

What information do I need to provide when ordering roof drains?

The most important information we need about the product you want is the roof drain model, the diameter and length of the drain pipe.

How do I know how long a roof drain I need?

The roof drain outlet pipe must reach through the supporting structure, no connections should be made inside the structure. It is good to size the drain pipe so that the drain end of the pipe reaches at least 100 mm below the load-bearing structure.

How often and how should roof drains be maintained?

Roof drains must be maintained regularly. The grate must be cleaned of debris and it must be ensured that the water flow to the roof drain is unobstructed.

Do I need an scupper on the roof if the water is drained through the roof drains?

Yes, the scupper's job is to direct the water from the roof to the outside of the wall structure when the roof drain becomes blocked. Each roof, which is drained through the roof drains, must also have at least one scupper. Water removal from small roofs and canopies can be achieved by using only scuppers.

With the help of our technical sales, you can find a solution that works for even the most demanding site!
