Yard rainwater drainage

Three new buildings and an underground parking garage are being built in the area of Tampere University Hospital (Tays). The main contractor for the project is SRV Rakennus Oy. The buildings were commissioned in phases between 2018 and 2020. Rainwater drainage at the entrances to the large hospital forecourt was carried out by Hämeen Viherrakennus Oy using Peltitarvike's linear drainage gutters.

A functional rainwater drainage solution

The construction products selected for the implementation of a large-scale construction project must work – and their deliveries must be on time. Custom-made products facilitate and speed up the work of both the designer and the installer.

The safety of the hospital entrance cannot be compromised. Therefore, at the end of 2017, easily customisable DryLine ® Flex channel drains installed at the entrance to Tays Central Hospital. Project engineer Antti Rytilahti from Hämeen Viherrakennus Oy says that this ensured a stylish and reliable rainwater and stormwater drainage. The channel drains were installed in three stages and deliveries were made as agreed.

The features of the channel drains were the solution

The functionality of the rainwater solution was particularly important to the customer. Therefore, the customer required that Peltitarvikke's DryLine channel drains be installed at the site. The built-in slope of the gutters ensures the flow of water. The heating elements, in turn, ensure that the gutters remain melted and functional in all weather conditions.

Peltitarvike delivered an 83 m long uniform channel drains with mounting feet, including four mud boxes, pressure flaps and protective housings for heating resistors. The lengths of the gutter units were optimised for ease of handling and installation. Units of about six metres in length are easy to transport and also have the advantage of a smaller number of joints.

  The DryLine® Flex channel drain, made of stainless steel, suitable for surface water drainage of parking facilities, courtyards, terraces and inverted structures, is dimensioned according to the plan, taking into account the required load-bearing class and internal slopes.
