From metal to art

In 2023, GSMA and Kingfisher collaborated to create a kinetic sculpture, Circulation, for one of the world's largest mobile events (MWC Barcelona). The purpose of the work was to symbolise how mobile devices can also get a second, third or even fourth life thanks to recycling.

The work was designed by the design and production company Sun Effects, which commissioned Peltitarvike to manufacture the parts of the work's almost three and a half metre high iron frame and a 14-metre long aluminium spiral rotating on a central axis. The parts of the body of the work were manufactured from start to finish with Peltitarvikke, from the selection of metal sheets to their machining, all the way to the delivery of the finished parts. 80 refurbished phones were attached to the constantly rotating spiral of the finished work. The synchronised screens of the phones together form one moving screen.

The sculpture is only one part of the life cycle of the phones used in the sculpture. After the MWC Barcelona event, the phones will be refurbished and recycled.

Bending and metal forming

We perform a wide range of metal sheet bending. Our services include the manufacture of tubular, cone and semi-circular pieces and enclosures. Our laser cutting meets the requirements of EN 1090-2, which guarantees the quality of manufacturing up to the EXC4 execution class.
